The trade volume of imported motorcycles in my country has shown a rapid growth trend
Recently, at Kawasaki Motorcycle's storage and distribution center in Kangqiao, Shanghai, rows of neatly arranged motorcycles are ready to go, and warehouse management staff are busy carrying out the final inspection before shipment... As a brand car company with a market share of about 40% in imported motorcycles, Kawasaki Motorcycle sends more than a thousand motorcycles from the distribution center every week.
In recent years, the trade volume of imported motorcycles in my country has shown a rapid growth trend, with an average annual compound growth rate of more than 40%. With its advantages in shipping, finance, services and the open environment of the free trade zone, Shanghai has become the largest import motorcycle port in the country, and the number of imported motorcycles in 2021 accounted for more than 70% of the country. Since the second half of this year, the number of imported motorcycles at Shanghai Port has rebounded rapidly. Shanghai Customs has implemented 32,600 imported motorcycle inspections, with a value of more than US$202 million, and the number has increased by 12.8% year-on-year.
The continuous growth in the number of imported motorcycles tests the level of customs control services. In order to improve the level of facilitation of imported motorcycle trade at Shanghai Port, Shanghai Customs has continuously optimized the inspection model of imported motorcycle commodities on the basis of strict control.
